Lucknow: In a major administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening policing and improving operational efficiency across Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government on Thursday transferred 206 Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers, including 20 women officers, across various districts, commissionerates, PAC battalions, intelligence units and training establishments.
The large-scale exercise covers several officers who had been serving at the same station for a considerable period, besides a number of officers who were recently promoted from the rank of Inspector to Circle Officer (CO)/Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). The transfers are being viewed as one of the most significant PPS-level reshuffles undertaken by the state government in recent months.
CM Security Wing Gets New Officer
One of the most notable changes in the transfer list pertains to the Chief Minister’s security setup.
DSP Jitendra Kumar-II, who had been serving in the Chief Minister’s security wing, has been transferred to Shahjahanpur. In his place, Vikas Kumar Jaiswal, currently serving as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Lucknow and previously associated with Raebareli, has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Chief Minister’s security.
In another important development, the government cancelled the transfer order of ACP Arvind Kumar-II, who was earlier shifted from the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate to Lakhimpur Kheri. Following the cancellation, he will continue serving in his present posting.
Key Postings Across Districts
The transfer order includes several significant district-level postings.
Among the notable changes:
- Priyanka Bajpai, DSP of Kannauj, has been transferred to Kanpur Commissionerate as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
- Som Prakash Verma, DSP of Bijnor, has been transferred to Mau.
- Sukanya Sharma, ACP in Agra Commissionerate, has been appointed DSP of Baghpat.
- Stuti Singh, DSP of Hapur, has been posted as Circle Officer (CO), Sambhal.
- Satish Kumar Rai, ACP Lucknow, has been transferred to PAC Meerut.
- Rajiv Kumar Sisodia, CO Railway Saharanpur, has been posted as ACP in the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate.
- Dr Ravi Shankar, CO Muzaffarnagar, has also been appointed ACP in the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate.
Major Changes in Lucknow Commissionerate
The transfer exercise has brought substantial changes to the Lucknow Police Commissionerate as well.
Several officers have been inducted into key ACP positions:
- Uday Pratap Singh-II has been transferred from Gorakhpur to Lucknow Commissionerate.
- Rajesh Kumar Singh has been moved from Agra to Lucknow Commissionerate.
- Abhishek Kumar Pandey has been transferred from Kanpur Nagar and appointed ACP in Lucknow.
Meanwhile, ACP Satish Kumar Rai has been relieved from Lucknow and shifted to PAC Meerut.
Strengthening Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate
The Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) Commissionerate has also received experienced officers under the reshuffle.
- Rajiv Kumar Sisodia, previously serving with Railway Police in Saharanpur, has been posted as ACP.
- Dr Ravi Shankar, who was serving as CO Muzaffarnagar, has also been appointed ACP in the commissionerate.
The move is expected to further strengthen policing in one of the state’s most important urban commissionerates.
Transfers Across Districts, PAC and Specialized Units
The reshuffle extends beyond commissionerates and includes numerous district and specialized unit postings.
Some prominent transfers include:
- Anuruddh Kumar transferred from Maharajganj to Mahoba.
- Abhishek Singh shifted from Kaushambi to Balrampur.
- Ajay Kumar Shrotiya moved from Jhansi to Amroha.
- Pankaj Pant transferred from Shahjahanpur to Rampur.
- Ashok Kumar Mishra-II shifted from Bhadohi to the 30th Battalion PAC, Gonda.
- Manish Kumar Yadav transferred from Prayagraj Airport Security to the 4th Battalion PAC, Prayagraj.
In addition, several officers have been posted to Varanasi Commissionerate, PAC battalions, Local Intelligence Units (LIU), police training institutions and other specialized wings of the state police department.
Women Officers Receive Key Responsibilities
The transfer list includes 20 women PPS officers, many of whom have been assigned important operational and administrative responsibilities.
Among the notable postings:
- Stuti Singh transferred from Hapur to Sambhal as CO.
- Sarjana Singh moved from Aligarh and posted as Assistant Commandant, 49th Battalion PAC, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
- Jyotishree transferred from Balrampur and appointed ACP in Kanpur Nagar Commissionerate.
- Shweta Verma moved from Mathura and posted as ACP in Agra Commissionerate.
- Vineeta transferred from Hamirpur to Police Training School (PTS), Meerut.
- Shuchita Singh shifted from Meerut and appointed ACP in Ghaziabad Commissionerate.
- Priyanka Bajpai posted from Kannauj to Kanpur Commissionerate as ACP.
- Sukanya Sharma appointed DSP Baghpat from Agra Commissionerate.
The postings reflect the increasing deployment of women officers in leadership and field-level policing assignments across the state.

Focus on Administrative Efficiency and Law & Order
Officials indicated that the transfers were carried out with the objective of ensuring administrative efficiency, addressing long tenures at specific stations and accommodating officers who were recently promoted to PPS ranks.
The exercise is also aimed at strengthening policing arrangements across districts, commissionerates, PAC units and specialized branches while ensuring optimal utilization of experienced officers.
Immediate Joining Ordered
The Director General of Police (DGP) Headquarters has directed all 206 transferred officers to be relieved from their current postings without delay and assume charge at their new places of posting immediately.
The instructions emphasize that the transition should be completed smoothly and expeditiously to ensure there is no disruption in law and order management, policing operations or administrative functioning anywhere in the state.
As one of the largest PPS-level reshuffles in recent times, the transfers are expected to have a significant impact on policing and administrative management across Uttar Pradesh.
