A new Chief Minister has been elected by the winning party’s MLAs in Madhya Pradesh, after Assembly Election 2023. But since the election results came out on December 3, many bureaucrats have been planning to go on leave, and some have already gone.

Collectors of many districts of Madhya Pradesh are on leave to overcome election fatigue. Some are going on short-term leave. This came to public notice, when Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anupam Rajan held video conferencing (VC) on Friday, 8 December.

In such a situation, the responsibilities assigned to these officers by the state government will remain in the hands of the in-charges all throughout the leave period.
