New Delhi: The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India has launched its inaugural heritage designer collection titled “Soul Threads”, marking a major step in its revival journey to promote India’s traditional crafts and textile heritage.
The exclusive exhibition is being held from April 24 to May 10, 2026, at CCIC’s flagship showroom at Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, Janpath, New Delhi.
Inauguration by Ministry of Textiles Officials
The exhibition was formally inaugurated on April 24, 2026, by Mrs. Neelam Shami Rao, IAS, Secretary (Textiles). The event was attended by several senior dignitaries, including:
- Rohit Kansal, Secretary, Department of Rural Development
- Dr. M. Beena, Development Commissioner (Handloom)
- Amrit Raj, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts)
- Akhilesh Kumar, Chairman, CCIC
- Cmde Rajiv Ashok, Managing Director, CCIC
Senior officials from the Ministry of Textiles and other distinguished guests also participated in the launch event.

‘Soul Threads’ Showcases India’s Rich Craft Heritage
The “Soul Threads” collection presents a curated range of India’s finest artisanal creations, including:
- Designer sarees
- Bespoke designer wear
- Handcrafted jewellery
- Traditional home furnishings
The collection reflects India’s rich indigenous textile traditions, reimagined with a contemporary design approach.
Cultural Evening and Fashion Showcase
The inaugural event featured a special preview of the collection followed by a fashion show highlighting the heritage designer pieces.
The evening also included vibrant cultural performances by folk artists, showcasing the diversity of India’s traditional art forms and cultural richness.

The initiative aims to provide a strong platform for designers, artisans, and cultural performers, helping preserve India’s centuries-old craftsmanship.
