Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited Bodri Nagar Palika in Bilaspur district and announced a series of development projects, focusing mainly on road infrastructure, community buildings, education upgrades, and public amenities. The announcements were made during his participation in the Gadge Jayanti celebrations and the Kannaujiya Rajak community conference.
Road Development Projects Worth Over ₹42 Crore Inaugurated
The Chief Minister inaugurated six road development works in the region, collectively worth approximately ₹41.68 crore. These projects aim to improve connectivity between rural and urban areas of Bilaspur district.
Key inaugurated works include:
- Road from Chakarbhata to Dagori
- Road construction within FCI godown premises
- Access route from Dagori main road to Mohatra
According to officials, these projects are expected to significantly improve daily commuting, logistics movement, and rural accessibility in the region.
Completion of 4 Major Roads Worth ₹25.95 Crore
CM Sai also inaugurated four completed road projects costing ₹25.95 crore, further strengthening the district’s transport network.
These include:
- Chakarbhata–Dagori connectivity route
- FCI godown area road development
- Dagori main road to Mohatra access route
The government stated that improved road infrastructure will enhance both urban and rural mobility and reduce travel time across key locations.
New Road Projects Worth ₹15.72 Crore Launched
In addition to inaugurations, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for two new road projects worth ₹15.72 crore:
- Dari–Dhuma–Silpahari road
- Hathni Navagaon–Godhi–Udgahan road
These projects are expected to benefit thousands of residents and boost local trade and transportation networks once completed.
Major Announcements for Community Welfare and Public Infrastructure
During the event, CM Sai announced several development initiatives for different communities and public institutions:
- ₹60 lakh for construction of Kannaujiya Rajak community building
- Allocation of 25 dismil land for Sant Gadge Baba memorial building
- ₹60 lakh for Sannady Kurmi community hall
- ₹20 lakh for Verma community building
- Upgradation of Dhamni Chakarbhata middle school to high school
- Development of a sports ground near the airport in Bodri Nagar Palika
- Beautification of Jora Talab (pond)
These announcements aim to strengthen social infrastructure and community participation in the region.
Focus on Education and Sports Infrastructure
A key highlight of the visit was the announcement to upgrade a government middle school in Dhamni Chakarbhata to a high school. The government also committed to developing a sports ground near the airport area in Bodri, aiming to promote youth sports activities and local talent development.

Speaking at the event, CM Sai emphasized the importance of social unity and institutional participation in development. He also honored students and individuals who have excelled in various fields, stating that such recognition encourages healthy competition and public service spirit.
He added that social organizations play a crucial role in creating awareness and strengthening community structures.
Tribute to Sant Gadge Baba on His 150th Birth Anniversary
The event also marked participation in the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sant Gadge Baba, a revered social reformer known for his emphasis on cleanliness and public awareness.
CM Sai said that Sant Gadge Baba’s message remains highly relevant today and aligns with ongoing initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission, led by the government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Development Push Aims to Strengthen Regional Growth
The Chhattisgarh government reiterated its focus on strengthening core infrastructure in the state. CM Sai stated that improved road connectivity will reduce the distance between rural and urban areas and accelerate regional development.
