Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited Janjgir-Champa district on Sunday and announced a major development push for the region. During a public event held in Podi (Racha) village under Nawagarh block, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 341 development projects collectively worth more than ₹295 crore.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening infrastructure and improving basic civic amenities across the district.
159 Completed Projects Inaugurated, 182 New Projects Launched
Out of the total works, the Chief Minister inaugurated 159 completed projects worth over ₹70.10 crore. In addition, he laid the foundation stone for 182 new projects valued at more than ₹224.90 crore.
These projects span across multiple key departments, including:
- Water Resources Department
- Public Works Department (PWD)
- Public Health Engineering Department
- Rural Engineering Services
- Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation (CGMSC)
- Urban Administration Department
- Panchayat and Rural Development Department
- Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)
- Forest Department

Focus on Road, Water, Health, and Rural Infrastructure
The development works cover a wide range of sectors, including:

According to the government, these initiatives are expected to significantly enhance public convenience and improve the quality of life in the district.
“Historic Day for Janjgir-Champa,” Says Chief Minister
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described the occasion as a “historic day” for Janjgir-Champa district. He emphasized that the state government is committed to balanced and inclusive development across all regions of Chhattisgarh.
He stated that infrastructure development is not just about construction, but about bringing positive change in people’s lives. The government’s priority, he said, is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in the queue.
Key Announcements by the Chief Minister
During the event, the Chief Minister also made several important announcements for local development:
- ₹50 lakh sanctioned for beautification of Ramsagar pond
- Construction of an Aajivika Bhavan to promote self-help groups and livelihood activities
- ₹15 lakh for construction of a Sahhu community building
- Construction of a Public Works Department rest house in Nawagarh
- Opening of a paddy procurement center in Gram Panchayat Podi to benefit farmers
These announcements are expected to boost local infrastructure and support economic and social development in the region.

Chief Minister Sai reiterated that the state government is continuously working towards ensuring equitable development across urban and rural areas.
