New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to take a major step toward planned urban development by converting 207 long-disputed land parcels into public infrastructure projects. These plots, which were stuck in legal proceedings for years, will now be used to build parks, wider roads, hospitals, and other essential civic facilities across Delhi.
The move comes after a decisive ruling by the Supreme Court of India, which upheld the legality of DDA’s land acquisition under the Land Acquisition Act, 2013 (Section 24(2)), effectively ending the long-standing ownership dispute.

For years, these 207 plots were entangled in litigation as landowners challenged the acquisition process in court. The dispute centered around claims under Section 24(2) of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
However, the Supreme Court has now rejected the objections raised by landowners and confirmed that the acquisition carried out by DDA is legally valid. With this verdict, the legal uncertainty surrounding these plots has officially ended, clearing the way for development work.
