The Delhi government expects to distribute the first instalment around Raksha Bandhan, subject to the completion of the application and verification process.

The scheme is being seen as a significant step towards women’s economic empowerment and financial support in the national capital.

Registration Portal to Open From August 1

The registration process for the ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance scheme will begin on 1 August.

Eligible women will be able to submit their applications through the dedicated registration portal. Once applications are received, the government will conduct a scrutiny and verification process before finalising the list of beneficiaries.

The application process is expected to follow these key steps:

  1. Eligible women register through the portal.
  2. Applications are scrutinised by the concerned authorities.
  3. Details are verified for eligibility.
  4. Approved beneficiaries become eligible to receive the financial assistance.

The government has clarified that applicants will receive the benefit after their applications have been scrutinised and approved.

First Instalment Expected Around Raksha Bandhan

The Delhi government expects to distribute the first instalment of ₹2,500 around Raksha Bandhan.

However, the first payment will depend on the completion of the application scrutiny and approval process.

The government has expressed hope that the first group of eligible beneficiaries will receive the financial assistance around the festival.

CM Rekha Gupta Says Government Has Fulfilled Its Promise

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government has fulfilled its promise to women within around one and a half years of coming to power.

She congratulated the women of Delhi and assured them that her government would continue to work for their welfare.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of the scheme as part of the government’s commitment to supporting women and strengthening their financial well-being.

Scheme Aims to Promote Women’s Economic Empowerment

The ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance scheme is being considered an important women-centric welfare initiative by the Delhi government.

The regular financial support is expected to provide eligible women with additional assistance for meeting their financial needs and promoting greater economic independence.

The initiative focuses on:

  • Providing regular financial assistance to eligible women.
  • Supporting women’s economic empowerment.
  • Promoting financial independence and self-reliance.
  • Strengthening women-focused welfare measures in Delhi.

Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa Welcomes the Decision

Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa welcomed the Cabinet’s decision and described the scheme as a major gift for the women of Delhi on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Cabinet had approved the ₹2,500 per month financial assistance scheme to promote women’s economic empowerment.

Sirsa also said that the registration portal would become active from 1 August and expressed hope that eligible women would receive the first instalment around Raksha Bandhan.

Applications to Undergo Scrutiny Before Financial Assistance

The government has clarified that submitting an application alone will not automatically guarantee the monthly financial assistance.

After registration, applications will undergo scrutiny and verification. Only eligible applicants whose applications are approved will receive the benefits under the scheme.

The process will therefore involve:

  • Registration through the designated portal.
  • Scrutiny of applications.
  • Verification of eligibility.
  • Approval of beneficiaries.
  • Disbursement of the monthly financial assistance.

Delhi Government’s Women-Centric Welfare Initiative

The approval of the ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance scheme marks a significant step by the Delhi government towards providing greater financial support to eligible women.

With registration scheduled to begin from 1 August, eligible women will soon be able to apply for the scheme. The government expects the first instalment to be distributed around Raksha Bandhan, subject to the completion of the scrutiny and approval process.

The initiative is expected to become an important part of Delhi’s women-focused welfare measures and reflects the government’s stated commitment to women’s financial empowerment, welfare and self-reliance.
