Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will inaugurate Godrej Consumer Products Limited’s new manufacturing unit at Malanpur in Bhind district on August 26. The company has invested more than ₹450 crore in the expansion, which is expected to create over 2,250 jobs and strengthen industrial activity in the region.
CM Mohan Yadav will also distribute appointment certificates to newly recruited PWD employees during the programme.
New Production Facilities
The expansion includes a 10-metric-tonne-per-hour continuous saponification plant and an automated packaging system capable of handling 217 bundles per minute.
The expanded facility will have annual production capacities of 42 crore hair-colour sachets, 14 crore mosquito-repellent products, 10 crore air-freshener sachets and 7,300 metric tonnes of hair cream.
The project is expected to create employment opportunities for local youth and support businesses linked to manufacturing and logistics.

₹185 Crore GST Revenue Expected
The expansion could generate around ₹185 crore in additional annual Central and State GST revenue for Madhya Pradesh.
Godrej has operated its Malanpur plant since 1991. Spread across 65 acres, the facility has received around ₹850 crore in cumulative investment and manufactures products including soap, hair colour and household insecticides.
Soap Production to Increase
The plant currently has annual production capacity of 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of soap noodles and 70,000 metric tonnes of finished toilet soap.
After expansion, these capacities are expected to rise to 2 lakh metric tonnes and 1.2 lakh metric tonnes, respectively, taking total annual production capacity to around 3.2 lakh metric tonnes.
The facility will also feature a 204-kilowatt rooftop solar plant and a zero-liquid-discharge system, supporting more sustainable manufacturing.
