Ranchi: The revival of Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) Limited, Ranchi, came under discussion as a six-member Central Parliamentary Sub-Committee met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday.
The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s residential office on Kanke Road, focused on HEC’s current situation, its revival and the roadmap for strengthening the public sector engineering company.
Panel Discusses HEC’s Revival
Soren and members of the parliamentary sub-committee held detailed discussions on the challenges facing HEC and possible steps for its revival.
The meeting also focused on the future of the Ranchi-based company and measures that could help restore its strength and ensure its long-term viability.
HEC has played an important role in India’s heavy engineering sector, making its revival significant for Jharkhand’s industrial ecosystem as well as the company’s workforce.

Six-Member Delegation Meets CM
The delegation included Rajya Sabha MP and committee chairman Tiruchi Siva, along with MPs Sultana Dev, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Hansmukhbhai Somabhai Patel and Chandan Chauhan.
MP Vijay Hansda was also present during the meeting.
The discussions provided an opportunity for the committee and the state government to exchange views on HEC’s present condition and the steps required to move its revival process forward.

Focus on HEC’s Future
The meeting comes amid efforts to examine the challenges facing HEC and identify a sustainable path for the company.
