New Delhi: The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) and its Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and Autonomous Bodies (ABs) have begun preparations for Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters 6.0 (SCDPM 6.0), with a specific focus this year on the collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste.
The preparatory phase, running from September 15 to 30, 2026, includes reviewing old physical and electronic files, identifying obsolete materials and scrap, and preparing e-waste for disposal in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022.
272 Sites Identified for Cleanliness Drives
As of September 24, the ministry and its CPSEs and ABs had identified 272 sites for intensive cleanliness drives across office campuses and industrial units.
The exercise has also identified 18,22,374 square feet of space that can be freed through the disposal of clutter and obsolete materials.
Over 51,000 E-Files Marked for Closure
The campaign has identified 4,003 physical files for review and weeding out in accordance with applicable record-retention rules.
In the digital records system, 51,582 e-files have been identified for closure as part of efforts to reduce pending records and improve digital record management.
The ministry is reviewing progress through regular meetings with nodal officers and senior officials from its CPSEs and ABs.
E-Waste Gets Special Focus
A total of 439 e-waste items had been identified for collection, segregation and disposal by September 24.
The identified e-waste is to be handled in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. MHI said the exercise covers offices and industrial units under the ministry, including its CPSEs and autonomous bodies.
Cleanliness activities are also being planned across these establishments as part of the campaign.
Campaign Enters Implementation Phase on October 2
During the remaining preparatory period, CPSEs and ABs are maintaining daily records of activities involving file review, cleanliness, scrap disposal, space management and e-waste handling.
The implementation phase of Special Campaign 6.0 is scheduled from October 2 to October 31, 2026.
MHI said regular monitoring will continue during the campaign, with the focus on reducing pendency, improving workplace management and ensuring proper disposal of obsolete materials and e-waste.
