Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has taken a new step towards making young people employment-ready by introducing specialised soft skill training for technical trainees.

The mission has selected seven organisations as soft skill partners to provide practical and professional skills that are currently in high demand across industries.

Through this initiative, technically trained youth will receive training in communication, personality development, workplace behaviour, and other essential skills required for career growth.

Seven Organisations Selected as Soft Skill Partners by UPSDM

The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission has partnered with seven institutions to strengthen soft skill training for young trainees.

The selected soft skill partners are:

  • Wadhwani Foundation
  • Generation India Foundation
  • Oracle Skill Development Initiative
  • Magic Bus India Foundation
  • MentorMe Foundation
  • Head Held High
  • Raina Education Foundation

These organisations will work with the mission to enhance the professional capabilities of youth undergoing technical training.

Youth to Receive Training in Industry-Focused Professional Skills

Under the new initiative, trainees will be taught practical skills that can help them perform better during job interviews and in professional environments.

The soft skill training programme will cover:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Personality development
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Leadership skills
  • Time management
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Digital etiquette
  • Interview preparation
  • Professional workplace behaviour

The mission aims to ensure that young people are not only technically qualified but also prepared to meet workplace expectations.

Technical Skills Alone Not Enough for Employment Success

The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission said that technical knowledge alone is not always sufficient for securing employment in today’s competitive job market.

Industries increasingly prefer candidates who can:

  • Communicate confidently
  • Work effectively in teams
  • Manage time efficiently
  • Adapt to changing work environments
  • Demonstrate professional behaviour

By including soft skills as an important part of training, the mission aims to improve the overall employability of young professionals.

Initiative to Improve Job Opportunities and Workplace Performance

The new soft skill training programme is expected to help trained youth perform better from the interview stage to their professional careers.

Officials said that these skills will help candidates:

  • Build confidence
  • Improve workplace communication
  • Handle professional responsibilities effectively
  • Increase chances of long-term career success

The initiative is also expected to provide industries with skilled, disciplined, and professional human resources according to their requirements.

Soft Skills Training to Strengthen Employment-Oriented Skill Development in UP

Principal Secretary of the Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Dr. Hari Om, said that the initiative will increase confidence among trained youth and improve their chances of getting jobs and succeeding in the workplace.

He added that the programme will give a new direction to employment-focused skill training in Uttar Pradesh and help young people become more competitive in the evolving job market.

UPSDM Focuses on Creating Industry-Ready Workforce

With the inclusion of soft skills in technical training programmes, the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission aims to bridge the gap between education, training, and industry requirements.

The initiative is expected to prepare a more capable workforce by combining technical expertise with professional skills, helping youth access better employment opportunities in the future.
