Uttarakhand CM Dhami Approves ₹14 Crore for Roads, Temple Beautification, Irrigation and Disaster Relief

The approved projects span multiple districts and include road construction, religious site development, canal modernisation and ₹1.21 crore in relief for 13 disaster-affected people in Dharali.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions worth around ₹14 crore for various development and welfare projects across the state. The approved projects cover road construction, beautification of religious sites, irrigation infrastructure, basic amenities and disaster relief.

The latest approvals are aimed at strengthening infrastructure in different districts while supporting religious tourism, improving connectivity and providing assistance to people affected by natural disasters.

₹14 Crore Approved for Development Projects Across Uttarakhand

The projects approved by the Chief Minister cover several districts, including Pithoragarh, Champawat, Pauri, Almora, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi.

The major allocations include:

  • ₹79.87 lakh for construction of a CC approach road from Nainipatal to Naghar Inter College in Didihat, Pithoragarh.
  • ₹32.49 lakh for installation of a statue of freedom fighter Kalyan Singh Adhikari in Lohaghat, Champawat.
  • ₹40.53 lakh for construction of the Selagad-Kotkendri link road in Champawat.
  • ₹3.69 crore for beautification of several temples in Pithoragarh, Pauri and Almora.
  • ₹1.01 crore as the first instalment for construction of temples and dharamshalas in the Gadarpur area of Udham Singh Nagar.
  • ₹3.89 crore for construction of internal roads using interlocking tiles in Mairoli and Badpas gram panchayats of Champawat.
  • ₹4.95 crore for strengthening and modernisation of the head of the Beejapur Canal under the Amrit Yojana.
  • ₹1.21 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for 13 people affected by natural disaster-related damage to commercial buildings in Dharali, Uttarkashi.

₹3.69 Crore Approved for Temple Beautification

The Uttarakhand government has approved ₹3.69 crore for the beautification and development of several religious sites across the state.

The projects include:

  • Mostamanu and Sam temples in Pithoragarh
  • Maa Bal Kuwari Temple at Devikhal in Pauri
  • Bhimadevi Temple at Bhetabardoli in Almora
  • Malli Manila Temple in Salt, Almora

The development and beautification work is expected to improve facilities at these religious sites and contribute to the promotion of religious and tourism-related activities in the state.

Funds Approved for Roads and Basic Infrastructure

Road connectivity and local infrastructure have also received attention under the latest financial approvals. The government has sanctioned funds for the construction of the Nainipatal-Naghar Inter College CC approach road in Didihat and the Selagad-Kotkendri link road in Champawat.

In addition, ₹3.89 crore has been approved for the construction of internal roads using interlocking tiles in the Mairoli and Badpas gram panchayats of Champawat district.

These projects are expected to improve local connectivity and provide better access to essential services for residents in the concerned areas.

₹4.95 Crore Approved for Beejapur Canal Modernisation

Under the Amrit Yojana, the Chief Minister has approved ₹4.95 crore for the strengthening and modernisation of the head of the Beejapur Canal.The project is focused on improving irrigation infrastructure and strengthening the canal system, which can support agricultural activities and improve water management in the region.

₹1.21 Crore Relief Approved for Dharali Disaster-Affected Families

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also approved the release of ₹1.21 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide assistance to 13 people affected by damage to commercial buildings caused by a natural disaster in Dharali, Uttarkashi. The financial assistance is intended to provide relief to those impacted by the disaster and support their recovery.

Funds Approved for Temples and Dharamshalas in Udham Singh Nagar

The government has also approved financial support for the construction of temples and dharamshalas in the Gadarpur area of Udham Singh Nagar.Against a total sanctioned amount of ₹2.54 crore, approval has been given for the release of ₹1.01 crore as the first instalment. The project is expected to support the development of religious and community infrastructure in the region.

CM Dhami Directs Departments to Ensure Benefits Reach All Beneficiaries

Apart from approving development projects, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the Social Welfare, Women Empowerment and Tribal Welfare departments to ensure effective implementation of their schemes.

The Chief Minister emphasised that public service initiatives should deliver tangible results and that the benefits of government schemes should reach all eligible beneficiaries.

Monthly Old-Age Pension Distribution to Be Ensured

Chief Minister Dhami said that the distribution of old-age pensions will now be ensured every month on a fixed date, along with the Chief Minister’s message.The initiative is aimed at making pension distribution more regular and predictable for elderly beneficiaries across the state.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the need for greater care and support for elderly people living alone in mountainous regions. He said that Anganwadi centres will also be linked to efforts to care for senior citizens living alone in hill areas.The move is expected to strengthen social support systems for elderly residents in remote and mountainous parts of Uttarakhand.
