WCL Signs MoU with IMT Nagpur to Strengthen Leadership Development and Build Future-Ready Workforce 

Western Coalfields Limited has partnered with IMT Nagpur through a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver Executive Development Programmes for senior and middle-level executives, enhancing leadership, strategic management and organisational capabilities.

Nagpur: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Nagpur to enhance leadership development and build a future-ready workforce. The agreement, signed on 29 July 2026, aims to provide advanced Executive Development Programmes (EDPs) for WCL’s senior and middle-level executives, strengthening their strategic, managerial and leadership capabilities.

The collaboration marks another significant step in WCL’s efforts to invest in human resource development and prepare its executives to meet evolving industry challenges.

WCL Partners with IMT Nagpur for Executive Development Programmes

Under the MoU, IMT Nagpur will design and deliver state-of-the-art Executive Development Programmes (EDPs) for WCL executives.

The programmes will focus on:

  • Leadership development.
  • Strategic decision-making.
  • Managerial excellence.
  • Organisational transformation.
  • Future-ready leadership skills.

The initiative is expected to create a strong pipeline of capable leaders who can effectively lead WCL’s operations in an increasingly dynamic business environment.

MoU Signed in Presence of Senior WCL and IMT Officials

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

The event was attended by:

  • Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), WCL.
  • Bikram Ghosh, Director (Finance/HR), WCL.

The agreement was formally signed by:

  • M.K. Gupta, GM/HOD (E&M/HRD), WCL.
  • Dr. P. Janaki Ramudu, Dean (Research), IMT Nagpur.

Senior representatives from IMT Nagpur who were also present included:

  • Dr. Rajneesh Chauhan, Director, IMT Nagpur.
  • Dr. Abhishek Narain Singh, Chairperson, Executive Development Programmes (EDPs).

Partnership Aims to Build Future-Ready Leaders

Through this strategic collaboration, WCL aims to equip its executives with modern management practices and leadership skills required to navigate emerging challenges in the mining and energy sectors.

The Executive Development Programmes will help participants:

  • Strengthen strategic thinking.
