Even after achieving academic excellence, Rashi’s ambitions did not stop. She joined the government service in 2019 as an Information Assistant in the Department of Labor, but deep inside, her dream of wearing the prestigious RAS officer’s badge remained alive.
Her husband, Mahesh Kumawat, a Rajasthan Judicial Service (RJS) officer, stood by her side throughout her journey, becoming her pillar of strength.

While many candidates devote years of full-time preparation to competitive exams, Rashi’s path was far more demanding. Balancing office hours at the Joint Labor Commissioner’s office in Hasanpura, Jaipur, managing household responsibilities, and raising her one-year-old daughter – she still found time to chase her RAS dream.
Her first attempt came in 2021, but she failed to clear the Preliminary Examination. Instead of being disheartened, Rashi turned her failure into motivation. “I believed in myself,” she recalls. “I decided that next time I would pass this exam without coaching.”
What followed was a three-year-long disciplined self-study routine — mornings before work, evenings after putting her daughter to sleep. Books and test series became her only companions.
Preparation Strategy: Self-Study, Notes, and Test Series
Rashi’s preparation style was simple yet extremely effective. Without joining any coaching institute, she relied solely on self-study, test series, and her handwritten notes.
She said, “Even after my office work, I used every free minute to study. Early mornings and late nights were my only options.”
Rather than chasing countless study materials, Rashi focused on revision and consistency. She analyzed her mistakes in mock tests and refined her strategy over time.

She recalls being asked about radar engineering and the role of technology in aviation safety, including questions on plane crashes. The panel also tested her administrative insight by asking, “How will you promote the Hindi language?” and “How would you handle the responsibilities of an SDM?”
Although Rashi was from an English-medium background, she confidently answered all questions in Hindi, proving her adaptability and composure. “I actually enjoyed the Hindi questions,” she said with a smile.

Behind every strong woman stands a family that believes in her – and Rashi’s journey is no exception. She credits her parents, in-laws, husband, and God for her success.
“My family gave me the courage to continue. They took care of my daughter when I had to study. Without their emotional and moral support, this would not have been possible,” she said.
