Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat in Dehradun to assess the progress of key infrastructure and development projects across the state. The meeting was conducted through the Progress Portal and focused on accelerating ongoing works aligned with the vision of “Developed India 2047.”
During the review, the Chief Minister examined 12 major infrastructure projects worth a total of ₹6,940 crore, covering departments such as transport, energy, Public Works Department (PWD), National Highways, Border Roads Organisation (BRO), and others.
Monthly and 10-Day Review System Introduced
CM Dhami directed officials to strengthen the monitoring mechanism for timely execution of projects. He ordered that:
- Projects will be reviewed at the Chief Minister’s level every month
- Chief Secretary will conduct reviews every 10 days
- Delays in projects will lead to fixed responsibility and strict action against concerned officials
He emphasized that accountability will be ensured at every level to avoid unnecessary delays.
Deadline Fixed for 50% Completed Projects
The Chief Minister instructed that all projects that have achieved up to 50% physical progress must be completed by October 15, 2026.
He reiterated that completing development works within the stipulated timeline is a top priority for the state government and any delay will not be tolerated.
Strict Action Against Delays and Administrative Bottlenecks
CM Dhami directed departments to resolve issues related to land transfer, forest clearance, land acquisition, compensation payments, and other administrative hurdles in a coordinated and time-bound manner.
He stressed that the Progress Portal should be used as an effective monitoring tool to track every project continuously and ensure timely resolution of pending issues.
He also stated that delays in development projects negatively impact public welfare and economic activity in the state.
Key Projects Reviewed in the Meeting
The Chief Minister reviewed several important infrastructure projects, including:
- Ramnagar ISBT project
- Ranikhet Bus Terminal
- Tadiyakhana Depot and Workshop
- Banbasa and Rudrapur power substation projects
- Char Dham road projects
- Askot–Lipulekh road project
- Mana Pass road project
- National Highway projects in Haridwar and Kashipur regions
These projects are considered crucial for improving connectivity, transport infrastructure, and regional development.
District Magistrates Assigned Direct Monitoring Role
CM Dhami instructed that District Magistrates (DMs) must personally monitor pending cases at the district level, especially those related to:
- Forest land transfer
- Environmental clearances
- Land acquisition
- Compensation distribution
He directed that these issues should be resolved within defined timelines to avoid delays in project execution.
Infrastructure Key to Tourism, Trade and Employment Growth
The Chief Minister highlighted that infrastructure projects related to the Char Dham Yatra, border roads, power systems, and transport facilities are vital for the state’s overall development.
He said timely completion of these projects will significantly boost tourism, trade, investment, and employment opportunities in Uttarakhand.
Regular Monitoring to Ensure “Developed India 2047” Vision
CM Dhami instructed officials to assign clear responsibility for every project and ensure continuous monitoring. He added that projects with slower-than-expected progress should be placed under special action plans for early completion.
He reiterated that accelerated infrastructure development will play a key role in achieving the national vision of a “Developed India by 2047.”
