Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial assistance worth ₹289 crore for various development works across multiple assembly constituencies in the state. The funds are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, improving transport systems, enhancing public facilities, and supporting disaster relief and rehabilitation efforts.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the decision is expected to accelerate development activities across urban and rural regions, ensuring balanced growth throughout Uttarakhand.
Key Infrastructure and Local Development Projects Approved
Several important local projects have received financial approval under the package.
- ₹4.67 crore for laying a pipeline in Bhupatwala, Haridwar
- ₹1 crore for various urban development schemes in Champawat
- ₹27.02 lakh for construction and beautification of a dharamshala and road widening at Kalasin Devta Temple in Surun village, Almora
- ₹25 lakh for beautification of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Park and pond in Daroou village, Kichha constituency
These projects aim to improve civic infrastructure and enhance local public amenities.
Major Allocation for Agriculture University and Power Infrastructure
A significant allocation has been made for education and research infrastructure.
The government has sanctioned ₹75 crore as the first installment out of ₹150 crore for Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar.
Additionally:
- ₹5 crore for construction of a 33/11 kV power substation in Pankhu, Gangolihat (total sanctioned amount ₹9.43 crore)
These investments are expected to strengthen academic research and improve electricity supply infrastructure in rural regions.
Development Projects Approved in Dehradun
Several key projects have been cleared in the state capital:
- ₹2.81 crore for supply of treated STP water for gardening at Rashtrapati Ashiana
- ₹4.24 crore for Apara Saundhowali River Valley drinking water scheme in Mussoorie
- ₹33.45 crore for modernization of traffic systems, junction improvements, and road safety upgrades in Dehradun city
These initiatives aim to improve urban infrastructure, water management, and traffic flow in the capital.
Strong Focus on Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation
The government has also approved major funding for disaster management and relief operations:
- ₹3.81 crore for rehabilitation of 78 families in Pithoragarh district
- ₹30 crore under the State Disaster Response Fund for compensation related to human-wildlife conflict, crop damage, house damage, and livestock loss
- ₹75 crore approved for the World Bank-assisted disaster management project “U-PRIEP”
These funds will strengthen relief systems and improve rehabilitation support for affected families.
Road and Housing Infrastructure Development in Khatima
In Udham Singh Nagar district, several road and housing projects have been sanctioned:
- ₹6.02 crore for construction of a 6 km hot-mix road in Jogidher Nagla, Khatima
- ₹3.45 crore for motor road from main road to Khakra Crocodile Trail
- ₹1 crore for residential building construction in civil court complex, Khatima
These projects are expected to improve connectivity and local infrastructure in the region.
Aviation, Security and Drinking Water Projects Approved
Additional approvals include:
- ₹1.36 crore for development works at Sahastradhara helipad under Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority
- ₹1.28 crore for CCTV installation at Haridwar district court
- ₹21 crore for Sahaspur (augmentation) drinking water scheme
- ₹19 crore for Hukumtpur drinking water augmentation project
These initiatives aim to strengthen aviation infrastructure, public safety, and drinking water supply systems.
Education and Public Welfare Projects
Several welfare-oriented projects were also approved:
- ₹99.44 lakh for open gym facility at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Matoli (Champawat)
- ₹19.68 lakh for interlocking tiles work in Semagad village near Maa Purnagiri Dham
- LED street lights installation in Maa Hat Kalika temple road and all wards of Gangolihat municipality (Pithoragarh)
These projects focus on improving education facilities, public health, and rural infrastructure.
