He succeeds M.S. Shanmugam, who is set to retire on June 30.

Apart from heading the Tourism Department, Jeyaseelan will also serve as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC).

Changes in Co-optex and TUFIDCO

The government has appointed J. Innocent Divya as the new Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society (Co-optex).

She replaces Kavitha Ramu, who has been transferred and posted as Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (TUFIDCO).

The move places experienced officers in strategic roles linked to urban infrastructure development and the state’s handloom sector.

Urban Development and Greater Chennai Corporation Reassigned

In another important posting, P. Ramana Saraswathi, who was serving as Managing Director of Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation Limited, has been appointed as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board.

She replaces Shreya P. Singh, who has been transferred and appointed as Joint Commissioner (Health), Greater Chennai Corporation.

The posting is expected to strengthen urban housing and development initiatives undertaken by the state government.

District Collectors of Madurai and Sivaganga Exchanged

The reshuffle also includes changes in district administration.

P. Akash, who was serving as District Collector of Madurai, has been transferred and appointed as District Collector of Sivaganga.

Meanwhile, Nishant Krishna, the outgoing District Collector of Sivaganga, has been posted as the new District Collector of Madurai.

The exchange of collectors is expected to bring fresh administrative perspectives to both districts.

New Posting in HR&CE Department

N. Ponmani, who was serving as Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes in Erode, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department, Tiruchi Region.

The appointment comes at a time when the HR&CE Department continues to oversee temple administration and religious institutions across the state.

Focus on Administrative Efficiency

The latest transfers reflect the Tamil Nadu government’s continuing efforts to deploy experienced officers in key governance positions across transport, tourism, urban development, revenue administration, and district management.

Such periodic reshuffles are considered essential for improving departmental performance, strengthening service delivery, and ensuring efficient implementation of government programmes across the state.
