Chandigarh: Former IAS officer Dharam Pal formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, marking his entry into active politics.
He was inducted into the party in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, with senior BJP leaders and party workers welcoming his move.

Dharam Pal, a 1988-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has had an extensive career in public administration.

Born on October 25, 1963, Dharampal hails from Punjab and has a strong academic background:

- M.Tech in Computer Science / Controls & Instrumentation from IIT Delhi
