The government is also focusing on animal breed improvement, cattle rearing and dairy development. Madhya Pradesh aims to increase milk production from 12% to 20%.
Young people are being encouraged to take up advanced cattle rearing and dairy activities as additional livelihood opportunities.
Irrigation and Daytime Power Supply
The Chief Minister highlighted the expansion of irrigation facilities and said farmers are benefiting from daytime electricity supply, making agricultural work easier.
He also urged farmers to adopt natural farming and make greater use of improved agricultural technologies.
CM Appeals for Education and Financial Discipline
Yadav asked farmers to avoid unnecessary spending on marriages and other social events, focus on their children’s education and avoid selling agricultural land unnecessarily.
During the event, he also interacted with farmers and public representatives.
Farmers, Students Honoured
The festival featured an exhibition on government welfare schemes and agricultural activities. Krishi Vigyan Kendra scientists briefed farmers on improved farming techniques, natural farming and other useful practices.
Meritorious students from farming families and farmers practising organic farming and advanced technology-based cultivation were honoured. Officials and employees recognised during Independence Day celebrations were also felicitated.
The initiative reflects Madhya Pradesh’s effort to diversify rural incomes through horticulture, dairy, animal husbandry and modern farming, while improving irrigation, electricity access and market recognition for local agricultural products.
