Bhopal: The state capital Bhopal witnessed the official launch of the statewide cyber awareness campaign “Safe Click 2.0”, aimed at strengthening digital safety and educating citizens about rising cyber threats. The campaign was inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Yadav, who also flagged off a cyber awareness rally van to spread awareness across urban and rural regions of the state.
The campaign will run from June 24 to July 8 and will cover all districts, villages, schools, banks, markets, and public institutions across Madhya Pradesh.
Massive Statewide Outreach Across 55 Districts and 50,000+ Villages
The initiative, led by the Madhya Pradesh Police, will be implemented across:
- 10 administrative divisions
- 55 districts
- Over 50,000 villages
Officials confirmed that cyber awareness programs will be conducted at schools, religious places, government offices, and marketplaces to ensure maximum public participation.
Key Cyber Threats Highlighted in the Campaign
During the launch event, the Chief Minister warned citizens about the increasing sophistication of cybercrime, including:
- Digital arrest scams
- Deepfake videos and fake profiles
- OTP and banking frauds
- Online shopping scams
- Ransomware attacks
- Fake investment links
- Data breaches and hacking attempts
He described cyber criminals as “invisible enemies” operating silently through smartphones and computers.
Strong Emphasis on “Safe Click 2.0” Awareness Principles
The campaign promotes three core principles for digital safety:
1. Awareness
Educating citizens about cyber risks and fraud techniques.
2. Caution
Avoiding suspicious links, unknown calls, and sharing sensitive information.
3. Participation
Encouraging citizens to spread awareness within families and communities.
The government also urged people to follow a simple safety rule:
“Stop, Think, and Act” before clicking any unknown link.
Cyber Fraud Helpline 1930 and Digital Safety Infrastructure
Authorities emphasized the importance of the national cyber fraud helpline 1930, urging victims to report incidents immediately for faster action.
Other key developments include:
- Establishment of a Computer Emergency Response Team in the state
- Integration of over 1,700 government services from 56 departments on the MP e-Services portal (MP e-Services Portal)
- Strengthening digital data protection frameworks
- Faster freezing and recovery of fraud money through banking coordination
Police Achievements and Cybercrime Response System
The Madhya Pradesh Police highlighted major achievements in cybercrime control, including:
- Recovery and freezing of ₹135 crore in cyber fraud cases in 2025
- Launch of e-zero FIR system for cyber complaints up to ₹1 lakh
- Rapid response through cyber cells and banking coordination
- Crackdown on mule accounts and cyber slavery networks
Officials stated that prevention, investigation, and awareness form the core strategy of cyber policing.
Special Cyber Awareness Activities and Public Engagement
The campaign will include:
- Awareness rallies and cyber vans
- School booklets and posters for students
- Official awareness videos
- Community programs in markets and rural areas
- Engagement with social media influencers
Each day of the campaign will focus on a different cyber safety theme, such as banking fraud, women’s safety, and rural awareness.
Government Calls for Public Participation
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stressed that cyber safety must become a mass movement. He urged citizens to actively participate and help spread awareness.
He also stated that cybercrime prevention is not only a government responsibility but a collective social duty.
The Safe Click 2.0 campaign marks a significant step toward strengthening digital security awareness in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh. With rising cyber threats such as fraud, deepfakes, and digital scams, the initiative aims to build a digitally informed and cautious society.
By combining technology, education, and public participation, the state government hopes to transform cyber safety into a statewide public movement.
