Bhopal: The state government of Bhopal has transferred ₹203.56 crore in social security pension directly into the bank accounts of over 33.92 lakh beneficiaries across Madhya Pradesh. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav during a virtual programme held at the state secretariat.
The pension amount for the month of May was disbursed through a single-click transfer system to senior citizens, widows, persons with disabilities, and economically weaker sections.
CM Emphasizes Respect and Dignity for Elderly and Vulnerable Citizens
Addressing beneficiaries virtually from the ministry, CM Dr. Yadav said that respecting elders and helpless individuals is not just a duty but a part of India’s cultural and moral values.
He stated that:
- No poor family, elderly person, or differently-abled citizen should feel abandoned
- Social security is a commitment of the government
- Elderly care is like “cool shade in scorching heat” in Indian tradition
The Chief Minister reiterated that welfare of the most vulnerable sections remains a top priority of the state government.
Direct Benefit Transfer to 33.92 Lakh Beneficiaries
Under the social security pension scheme, the government transferred funds directly into bank accounts of:
- 33,92,695 beneficiaries
- Total amount: ₹203.56 crore
- Mode: Single-click Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
The programme ensured transparent and timely financial assistance to eligible citizens across districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Social Security Pension as a Guarantee of Respect and Protection
CM Dr. Yadav highlighted that social security pension is not just financial aid but a symbol of:
- Respect
- Security
- Government’s emotional support to citizens
He said the state considers all beneficiaries as part of one extended family and is committed to their dignity and well-being.
Welfare Schemes Under PM Modi’s Leadership Highlighted
The Chief Minister also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for strengthening welfare policies across the country, stating that the vision of “Antyodaya” is being successfully implemented.
He highlighted major national initiatives including:
- Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
- Ayushman Bharat health scheme
- Jal Jeevan Mission
- Ujjwala Yojana
According to the CM, these schemes have significantly improved living standards and lifted millions out of poverty.
Over 25 Crore People Lifted Out of Poverty in a Decade
CM Dr. Yadav stated that in the past 10 years:
- More than 25 crore people in India have moved out of poverty
- Around 80 crore citizens receive free food grains under national welfare schemes
- Madhya Pradesh continues to play a leading role in implementing development programmes
Government Focus on Farmers and Rural Welfare
The Chief Minister also announced key farmer-friendly measures, including:
- Zero percent interest loans for farmers
- Flexible repayment structure allowing 12-month repayment from loan date
- Continued focus on agricultural welfare under “Kisan Kalyan Year”
He emphasized that these initiatives aim to strengthen rural income and financial stability.
Dignitaries Present at the Programme
The event was attended by senior officials including:
- Social Justice and Disability Welfare Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha
- Chief Secretary Anurag Jain
- Other senior administrative officials of the state government
Beneficiaries from various districts participated virtually in the programme.
The large-scale pension distribution highlights Madhya Pradesh’s continued focus on social welfare and inclusive development.
