In a significant reshuffle of IAS and IPS officers in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s government has allocated postings to a select few officers, leaving many others still awaiting assignments. The reshuffle has raised questions about favoritism and the sidelining of experienced officers.
Postings for Some, Wait for Many
IAS officers such as P S Girisha and Harinarayanan, who previously served in relatively insignificant roles, have been reassigned to prominent positions. Among IPS officers, individuals like Harshavardhan Raju, Bindu Madhav, Pala Raju, Jayalakshmi, Satya Yesu Babu, K K N Anburajan, Babuji Attada, and Fakirappa Kaginelli received postings, albeit in less influential roles.
However, several senior IAS officers remain without assignments, including Y Srilakshmi, R Muthyala Raju, Muralidhar Reddy, Madhavi Latha, and Neelakanta Reddy. Similarly, senior IPS officers such as Kolli Raghurami Reddy, Nishanth Reddy, and Ravishankar Reddy continue to await their postings.
Suspensions Add to the Turmoil
Adding to the reshuffle’s complexity, notable IPS officers like P S R Anjaneyulu, N Sanjay, P V Sunil Kumar, Kranti Rana Tata, and Vishal Gunni have been suspended on charges of irregularities, further limiting the pool of available officers for key roles.
Political Overtones in Appointments
Sources suggest that the new postings have been influenced by the officers’ perceived affiliations with the previous YSR Congress regime, leading to speculations of political bias in the allocation process.
While the reshuffle has filled certain gaps, the prolonged absence of assignments for senior officers continues to raise concerns about administrative efficiency and morale in the state’s bureaucracy.
