Delhi: New Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has resolved a long-pending electricity connection issue affecting 36 families in Harsh Vihar A-3, bringing relief to residents who had been waiting since 2018.
The matter was addressed during a Jan Sunwai (public hearing), where affected families directly raised their concerns before the Chief Minister.
Immediate Government Action Brings Electricity to Harsh Vihar Residents
Following the complaint, CM Rekha Gupta issued immediate instructions to officials to prioritise the issue and resolve it without delay.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, action was taken in “mission mode,” which included:
- Installation of a new electricity transformer
- Completion of pending electricity connections
- Restoration of basic power supply for affected families
Officials confirmed that residents who had been waiting for years have now begun receiving electricity connections, ending a prolonged hardship.
Long-Awaited Relief for 36 Families Since 2018
The families informed the Chief Minister that despite repeated efforts, their electricity connections had remained pending for nearly seven years.
The swift intervention during the Jan Sunwai has been seen as a significant example of direct governance, aimed at resolving citizen grievances on priority.
Part of Broader Infrastructure Push Under Mission Yamuna
This development comes alongside several major infrastructure initiatives announced by the Delhi government under CM Rekha Gupta’s leadership.
Recently, the government approved projects worth over ₹1,000 crore under “Mission Yamuna”, focusing on:
- Cleaning the Najafgarh Drain
- Upgrading sewage treatment plants
- Strengthening water management systems in Delhi
These projects aim to improve both environmental conditions and urban infrastructure across the capital.
Focus on 365-Day Anti-Pollution Strategy in Delhi
The Delhi government is also actively working on pollution control measures through advanced technology-based solutions.
CM Rekha Gupta, along with senior ministers, recently inspected several systems including:
- Filterless air purification units
- EV-mounted anti-smog guns
- Industrial and roadside pollution control devices
These technologies are designed to reduce harmful pollutants such as PM2.5 and PM10 and improve air quality across high-traffic zones.
