Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government on Friday carried out a fresh administrative reshuffle in the police department, transferring six Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and assigning them new responsibilities across key districts and police establishments in the state.
The transfer orders, issued by the state government, are aimed at strengthening policing and administrative efficiency across various ranges and departments. Officials have been directed to assume charge of their new assignments with immediate effect.
Yamuna Prasad Appointed DIG Kanpur
Among the key appointments, 2012 batch IPS officer Yamuna Prasad has been posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Kanpur.
Prior to his new assignment, he was serving at the Police Training School (PTS), Moradabad. His appointment is expected to strengthen police administration in the strategically important Kanpur Range.
Sachindra Patel Posted as Additional Police Commissioner in Agra
2012 batch IPS officer Sachindra Patel has been appointed as Additional Police Commissioner (ACP), Agra.
Patel was previously serving as DIG in the Anti-Corruption Organisation, Lucknow. His transfer to Agra comes as the city continues to witness increasing policing and security requirements owing to its significance as a major tourist and commercial hub.
Ravi Shankar Chavi Gets New Responsibility in Lucknow
IPS officer Ravi Shankar Chavi has been assigned a new role at the Public Grievance Headquarters in Lucknow.
The posting places him in a key administrative position where he will be responsible for addressing public complaints and strengthening citizen-police interface mechanisms.
Harish Chandra Shifted to Anti-Corruption Organisation
Another significant transfer involves IPS officer Harish Chandra, who has been moved from the Kanpur Range.
He has now been posted as DIG in the Anti-Corruption Organisation, Lucknow. The Anti-Corruption Organisation plays a crucial role in investigating corruption-related cases and ensuring accountability within government systems.
Poonam Posted as DIG Mirzapur Range
IPS officer Poonam has been transferred from the Police Training School (PTS), Meerut, and posted as DIG, Mirzapur Range.
Her new assignment places her in charge of overseeing law and order and police operations across the Mirzapur Range, an important administrative region in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Ashok Kumar-IV Assigned to Devipatan Range
The state government has also transferred IPS officer Ashok Kumar-IV from the Crime Investigation Department (CID), Lucknow.
He has been appointed as DIG, Devipatan Range, headquartered in Gonda. The Devipatan Range comprises several districts in the state and holds significance from both administrative and law-and-order perspectives.
