Delhi Police Reshuffle: 34 IPS and DANIPS Officers Transferred; V. Hareshwar Swami Appointed DCP West

New Delhi: In a significant administrative exercise aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and leadership across various wings of the force, the Delhi Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 34 IPS and DANIPS officerson the recommendations of the Police Establishment Board.

The reshuffle covers a wide spectrum of Delhi Police operations, including district policing, traffic management, security, crime investigation, communications, welfare, licensing and specialized units. Several officers have been assigned new responsibilities, while a number of recently promoted officers have been given key field postings.

The latest transfer order is expected to bring fresh leadership to important districts and specialized units while enhancing coordination across the force.

Key Changes in District Policing

Among the most notable transfers, Sharad Bhaskar Darade has been moved from West District to Police Headquarters. In his place, V. Hareshwar Swami has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), West District.

Rahool Alwal has been transferred from the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) to North East District, while Shobhit D. Saksena has been posted as DCP Outer North.

In North District, Niharika Bhatt has been appointed as Additional DCP-I.

Further changes include:

  • Sikandar Singh shifted from North West District to Shahdara.
  • Kumar Abhishek posted as Additional DCP-II, South West District.
  • Arvind Kumar appointed Additional DCP-II, North East District.
  • Ridhima Seth appointed Additional DCP-II, Shahdara.
  • Ajay Kumar posted as ACP Seelampur.

Traffic Wing Sees Major Changes

The Traffic Unit has also witnessed significant restructuring.

Jimmy Chiram has been appointed DCP Traffic and has additionally been entrusted with the charge of SPUNER.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Singh has been appointed DCP Traffic on current duty charge.

Satish Kumar, who was serving in the Traffic Unit, has been transferred and posted as Additional DCP-I, Rohini.

These changes are expected to strengthen traffic management and enforcement mechanisms across the national capital.

Security and Protection Units Reorganized

A number of changes have been made in the security establishment of Delhi Police.

Jitendra Mani has been transferred from Court Security to the Security Division.

Sulekha, previously posted in Rohini, has been appointed DCP Security.

Manasvi Jain has also been assigned responsibilities as DCP Security.

Additional security-related appointments include:

  • Vipul Anekant posted as Additional DCP Security.
  • Prakshay Kumar Singh transferred as Additional DCP Security.
  • Abhishek Gupta moved from West District to the Security Wing.
  • Pankaj Sood assigned charge of Supreme Court Security.
  • Ishan Bhardwaj transferred from Security Wing to South East District.

The appointments reflect Delhi Police’s emphasis on strengthening security arrangements at critical installations and institutions.

Licensing, Welfare and Specialized Units

Several officers have been shifted to specialized assignments.

Aishwarya Sharma has been transferred from South East District to the Licensing Unit.

Anyesh Roy will continue as DCP, Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO), after relinquishing the additional charge of Licensing.

Isha Singh has been appointed DCP Welfare.

Mayank Bansal has been given additional charge of Welfare alongside his responsibilities in the Communication Unit.

These appointments are aimed at streamlining administrative and welfare-related functions within the force.

Promotions Lead to New Responsibilities

Following recent promotions, several officers have been entrusted with key field assignments.

Ravinandan B.M.

Promoted and posted as Additional DCP-I, North West District.

Vikas Meena

Promoted and appointed Additional DCP-I, Dwarka District.

The postings are expected to strengthen district-level policing and supervisory functions.

Crime Branch and Specialized Operations

The reshuffle has also impacted specialized operational units.

Chandra Kumar Singh has been transferred from NAV to the Crime Branch, strengthening investigative capabilities within the unit.

Ashok Kumar has been moved from South District and posted as DCP, NAV.

Gaurav Gupta has been transferred from North East District to the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), reinforcing the unit’s anti-drug enforcement operations.

Changes in Delhi Armed Police and RP Bhawan

Several officers have been assigned responsibilities in battalion and administrative units.

Deepak Yadav has been appointed DCP of the Fourth Battalion of Delhi Armed Police.

Alok Kumar Singh has been posted as DCP, RP Bhawan.

Additionally, Dabhi Anand Dinesh Bhai has also been assigned as DCP RP Bhawan under the latest transfer order.

Focus on Operational Efficiency

Officials indicated that the transfers are part of a broader administrative exercise aimed at ensuring optimal deployment of officers, improving inter-unit coordination and strengthening leadership across operational and administrative wings of Delhi Police.

The reshuffle covers district policing, traffic management, security operations, crime investigation, communications, welfare services and specialized enforcement units, reflecting the force’s effort to maintain effective policing in the rapidly evolving security environment of the national capital.

With 34 IPS and DANIPS officers receiving new assignments, the latest reorganisation marks one of the significant personnel movements within Delhi Police in recent months.
