Raipur: Chhattisgarh Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap has laid the foundation stone for rural roads worth ₹38.37 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Phase-4, Batch-01, aiming to strengthen rural connectivity and accelerate development in remote areas.
The foundation-laying ceremony covered multiple villages across the district, marking a significant push toward improving infrastructure in rural and tribal regions.
New Roads to Boost Rural Connectivity
Under the project, several new road stretches will be constructed to connect remote villages with main roads, improving access to essential services.
Key road projects include:
- Khadpadi to Patelpara Khadpadi (3.80 km) – ₹339.62 lakh
- Vetbeda Road to Dholmandri (5.50 km) – ₹503.36 lakh
- Kudhur to Patelpara Mundipadar (3 km) – ₹287.80 lakh
- Khashpura Khachgaon Godown to Manjhipara (3.62 km) – ₹335.04 lakh
- Pallibarasur Road to Kilam route (3.90 km) – ₹388.08 lakh
- Khodsanar to Padeli route (3.08 km) – ₹225.42 lakh
- Lakhapuri to Ehara (7 km) – ₹685.89 lakh
- Bayanar Road to Nahkanar (3.30 km) – ₹310.95 lakh
- Chhoteusri to Timenar (2.50 km) – ₹235.35 lakh
- Bayanar Road to Barko (2.70 km) – ₹223.52 lakh
- Pujari Para to Katul Para (2.96 km) – ₹302.22 lakh
These roads are expected to significantly improve transportation and reduce travel difficulties in rural areas.
Improved Access to Education, Healthcare and Jobs
The new road network will help connect remote villages to main highways, making it easier for residents to access:
- Schools and educational institutions
- Healthcare facilities
- Employment opportunities
- Markets and essential services
Officials say this will contribute to overall rural development and better living standards.
Focus on Women Empowerment and Self-Reliance
During the event, Minister Kedar Kashyap interacted with local beneficiaries, including women entrepreneurs involved in small businesses.
He encouraged rural women to adopt income-generating activities such as:
- Poultry farming
- Goat rearing
- Dairy farming
He also highlighted government schemes like the “Lakhpati Didi” initiative, which promotes women-led self-reliance.
Rural Development Reaches Remote Tribal Areas
The minister said that due to government efforts, areas once affected by Maoism are now witnessing rapid development.
He noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, infrastructure development has become a top priority, helping create employment opportunities and improve living conditions.
He also mentioned that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, providing ₹1,000 monthly assistance to women, is strengthening financial independence in rural households.

The government emphasized that these road projects are part of a broader strategy to ensure last-mile connectivity and inclusive development in tribal and rural regions, paving the way for long-term economic growth and social progress.
